Samsung isn't really known for making value for money phones and that's why they have been having a tough time in India. Brands like Redmi, Realme, Motorola, Oppo, and Vivo have flooded the market with plenty of good phones at great prices and Samsung has lost top spot as well. Samsung Galaxy M10 and M20 are here to change that trend and look very impressive smartphones in the budget segment. Let's take a look at what M20 offers.
Both M10 and M20 have a very similar design. The only major change you will see is that M20 has a fingerprint sensor on the back and the display of M20 is a bit larger than M10's display. The phone has a polycarbonate build with a glossy back which looks good but gets smudged easily. The display on the front has a small notch. Samsung calls it an Infinity V display. The front camera is placed inside the notch and the earpiece is above the notch. The bezels all around are thin but the chin is narrow as well which means the screen to body ratio is more than 90%.
The display resolution is Full HD 1080. It is not an AMOLED panel but still, it is a beautiful and sharp display with good colors and viewing angles. Overall, this is nice looking smartphone with a beautiful display under 15000 from Samsung.
The battery inside the phone is massive 5000 mAh and the charger that comes with the phone is a 15W fast charger. The battery backup of the phone is excellent and it will last for around 2 days with medium usage and more with light usage. The fast charger works well and charges the phone fully is less than 2 hours 30 minutes which is excellent considering the battery capacity. The phone weighs 186 grams which is a decent weight and is easy to hold.
The Samsung M10 is powered by Exynos 7904 1.8GHz octa-core chipset. It is not the best you would find in this range but still it is a decent chipset which handles multitasking well. The gaming performance isn't that great though. There are 2 variants of Samsung M20: 3GB RAM 32GB Storage and 4GB RAM 64GB storage. Those who are going to install a lot of apps and play games should go for the 4GB 64GB variant of M20.
The Samsung M20 runs on Samsungs Experience UI which is a skin based on Android 8.1 Oreo. There is a good amount of bloatware. The UI is clean and easy to use though. The performance of M20 on benchmarks is decent as well. It scores a bit above 100000 on Antutu benchmarks.
On the camera side, we have a surprise from Samsung. The rear camera is a dual setup of 13MP (f/1.9) + 5MP (f/2.2 ultra-wide) which is the same we saw on M10. While most companies just throw in a useless 2MP depth sensor as a secondary camera, Samsung has added an ultra wide angle lens which can be very useful. The primary sensor is also a good one and has an f/1.9 aperture which helps in low light shots. The camera on the front is an 8MP f/2.0 sensor. Both front and rear camera performance are decent for an under 15000 smartphone but not the best. The pictures taken in daylight look nice with good amount of details. The portrait mode pictures also look decent. If you need a phone with a great selfie camera, Realme U1 should be your choice.
The phone comes with a headphone jack and a triple slot sim tray so you can use 2 VOLTE sims simultaneously with a MicroSD card. Dedicated MicroSD slot is something we love because it gives flexibility to the user to increase storage without compromising with the dual sim functionality of the phone.
Overall, Samsung M20 is an excellent value for money smartphone and one of the best phones under 15000 you can buy. Great design, nice display, excellent battery, good cameras make it a great allrounder phone. If your usage is light, you can go for the 3-32GB variant which is priced a bit above 10000 and heavy users should go for the 4-64GB variant. Other good options in this range include Realme 2 Pro, Redmi Note 6 Pro, and Moto One Power.

Samsung M20 is a great phone under 15000. It looks great, the display is gorgeous, the battery backup is excellent, processor handles multitasking well and there is a dedicated MicroSD slot to increase the storage. Except gaming, everything is great in this phone so go for it if your budget is around 12000 and 13000.
